De Montfort Students’ Union: The Overflow Project
Campaign Design · Motion Graphics · Brand Identity · Print
The Overflow Project was a student wellbeing campaign developed in collaboration with De Montfort Students’ Union and the Single Point of Access service. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the challenges many students face when balancing academic pressures with their mental wellbeing, whilst providing accessible guidance and support.
The Brief
The campaign was designed as a multi-platform wellbeing initiative, allowing students to engage with the content in both physical and digital environments.
The delivered assets created a cohesive campaign ecosystem that encouraged students to reflect on their wellbeing, access support services, and develop healthier approaches to managing academic life.

The Brand
At the heart of the campaign was the acronym OVERFLOW, a framework designed to present practical wellbeing advice in a memorable and approachable format.
The visual identity combined bold typography, fluid graphic elements, and accessible messaging to communicate serious subject matter without becoming intimidating. The campaign was designed to resonate with a student audience, balancing supportive guidance with clear and engaging visuals.
Throughout development, particular attention was given to ensuring information remained approachable, inclusive, and easy to digest across a variety of formats.

The Print Suite

The Overflow Project demonstrates how graphic design can be used as a tool for positive social impact. By combining visual communication, motion design, and user-centred thinking, the campaign sought to make conversations around student mental health more visible, approachable, and actionable within the university environment.
This project allowed me to explore the role of design in promoting wellbeing while developing a cohesive campaign that could operate effectively across print, digital, and interactive media.
